Team building day Glenmore Lodge

Last Saturday we were working with a group from GE who have been training hard with Fitnut and are going to enter the uk challenge event in Snowdonia in July. Some knew each other but this day was all about getting to know the strengths and weaknesses with regard to skills such as orienteering and paddling. They gelled really well and we all had a great fun day!

Cummingston

This week we have been camping at Spey Bay Golf Club campsite as we were working in the area. It is a great place to camp and at a great price too. We were working with Skillforce running rock climbing at Cummingston and supervising DofE practise expedition groups. The route is perfect for bronze, day one being Lossiemouth to Spey Bay and camping at the campsite, then day 2 taking them to Fochabers along the Speyside Way. Just a shame the weather changed for Thursday.

Busy week

Last weekend we were biking at Glenlivet and we had a day of training with James at Cummingston, checking stakes, looking at best routes to rig for what purpose etc. Tuesday and Thursday we were with a DofE residential group who were staying at Glenmore Lodge. They really enjoyed the activities we did with them ie Team Building, Archery and Indoor Climbing and many friendships were built within the group. On Wednesday we ran Indoor Climbing and Biking for some of our 'Active Kids'. We have known these children for many years and it is amazing to see how their confidence is growing!

Loch Insh

We had a couple of days working at Loch Insh Watersports this week, kayaking and canoeing. The sit-on kayaks are great fun and the kids love them. The weather was lovely on the first day when we were able to go for a journey on the Loch.

Glenlivet Bike Trails

These are brilliant! Really well designed and flowing. There is a Blue of 5.5miles and a Red of  14 miles. The Blue is a great one for getting an idea of graded trails, it has no nasty surprises and is a really smooth surface with lots of sweeps. The inclines are at a fairly easy angle too and the last downhill is great fun. The Red is just that bit harder with narrower paths, steeper inclines but still well graded, nice little rock drop offs with good straight runs after, slabby bits and again just bags of fun, flowing trail. There are also Black options. All very well signposted. It was a very quiet day there yesterday and we had the trails to ourselves. We will definitely be back as we really loved it and we need to get some good photos!! Check out the Glenlivet Estate website for more info.
