Rafted Canoeing

The Forth Valley Crew enjoyed Rafted Canoeing on Loch Morlich today. The weather was not too bad, a bit windy but great fun. It has been an excellent 3 days with these guys, they have all felt slightly challenged at times but have tried and succeeded at everything. they are off to the Wildlife Park tomorrow.

Orienteering & Archery

Today we were Orienteering and Arching with the Forth Valley group. It was fantastic weather and everyone had a great day. The young folk were impressive orienteers and very competitive archers!

Loch Awe

We spent Friday to Sunday on Loch Awe, exploring by canoe. The weather was glorious and the water conditions went from total flat calm to force 4 and back again during the weekend. Interesting islands, crannogs and castles to visit.

On Monday we ran a Team Building session for a group from Forth Valley College. We will be with them again later today for some Archery and Orienteering. Lovely bunch of folk who were quick to work out how to wind us up! Work really well together and we are looking forward to seeing them soon.

Logie Head

On Sunday we had a great day at Logie Head with our friend James. First rock climbing for ages! The sun moved quickly and we tried to climb with it as the rock was so warm where the sun was. Cold blast up top though. Blue skies, blue sea, good company, what better way to spend a day!

Rafted Canoeing

On Friday we met up with Mark Ker for more poling practise which was hard work but we are getting somewhere with it now we think! On Saturday we took 'Active Kids' Niamh, Jodie, Emma and Ewan out rafted canoeing on Loch Morlich, it was fun and not too cold. In the afternoon we did the same with a family although the wind had got up a bit more and we could not complete a circuit of the Loch or go up the river but we did watch an Otter for a while which was a real delight for all of us as we have not seen one on the Loch for a couple of years, must keep watching!

Nabeel & Elizabeth

Yesterday we had our last indoor climbing with Nabeel and this time we persuaded his wife Elizabeth to have a go. They both did extremely well and we are hoping that they will be back in the summer for some real climbing!

Bits and pieces

Over the past few couple of days we have had an enjoyable kayak poling session up the Spey from Lochain Uvie, another indoor wall session with Nabeel, some training on the new Low ropes course at Alltnacriche and a pleasant late afternoon of navigation near the Slochd with a friend.

Catch up

On Wednesday we were working with WOW Scotland at Loch Duntelchaig where Ian and I ran the climbing and abseiling. Bushcraft and biking were the other activities and the group had a great time getting through them all! The weather played fair and stayed dry and reasonably mild.

Thursday saw us at the Indoor Wall at Glenmore with Nabeel for his 2nd session this year. We are hoping to persuade his wife Elizabeth to have a go too when we see them again on Sunday.
